My disposable razor has 5 blades!
Why does my razor have 5 blades?
What is the 5th blade cutting that blades 1, 2, 3, and 4 haven’t already cut?
But at the same time it’s nice to know that I have 5 blades!
Whatever little Asian stubble I have on my chin is guaranteed to be removed. My skin will be smoother than the day I was born!
God does the same for us in Jesus.
He says that whatever guilt and shame is in our life is guaranteed to be removed by Jesus.
That’s why the Bible has at least 5 words to describe what Jesus does for us:
justifies
atones
sanctifies
ransoms
redeems
Jesus guarantees that we stand before God spotless. Smoother. Cleaner. Than the day we were born.
