Why do Asians Make Me Take Off My Shoes?

Asians make you take off your shoes before you enter their house.

Listen to the audible version of this post: God in Sixty Seconds

It’s a good idea. But here’s the thing.

Usually you spend more on your shoes than your socks.

Now you have to take off your $100 shoes and walk around their house in your $1 socks with holes.

It shows we’ve got things round the wrong way.

We should spend $1 on our shoes and $100 on our socks. Because they only see our socks but not our shoes.

It’s the same with life.

We waste time and money on external things. But people see who we are on the inside instead.

That’s why God pours his Spirit into us. To fill us up from the inside-out. God fills us with his love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

We become more like Jesus. And this is what people see.

But you’re still going to have get rid of your socks with holes.
